The Angry Anvil opened on Oct. 29 under the ownership of Sam and Erin Mengel, both Birdsboro natives and graduates of Daniel Boone High School. The 3,200-square-foot Angry Anvil has a 2,500-square-foot dining area, with seating for 10 people at the bar and room for more than 90 diners at tables. The parking and restaurant are easily accessible, according to Sam Mengel. The Angry Anvil has beer for most anyone, including domestic and craft beers, plus rotating beer selections on tap. Specialty cocktails are being added to the menu, along with a broader variety of wine, Mengel said. A kids' menu is available with hamburger, grilled cheese and chicken nugget options. Prices range from $7 for a basket of flavored French fries to $14 for the Berks County Cobb salad.
